Kavita Radheshyam, an upcoming actress who will be seen in films like director Faisal Saif's Paanch Ghante Mein Paanch Crore and Om Allah, is on an agenda of putting an end to the cruelty towards animals.
To ensure that her effort doesn't go unnoticed, Kavita did a bold photoshoot going bare making the pictures public stating, "This is my protest in my own way to show my anger towards the cruelty on animals that takes place in India."
On how this idea came by, Kavita explained, "For animals, their clothes are their skin. When we are killing animals for their skin we are actually stripping them naked and that too for our convenience. I felt that it's high time that we too do something to save them from this cruelty and so I planned this photoshoot."
Though Kavita is not associated to any animal welfare organization, she has filed an application with PETA appealing them to support her in her fight. Her announcement comes on the heels of Poonam Pandey's declaration of going nude for Indian cricket team. The fact that the latter has become a laughing stock since then doesn't discourage Kavita.
When asked if she is concerned about what opinions people will form about her considering that she is just starting out her Bollywood career, Kavita said, "I don't care about what people think. I know what I am doing. I don't want to gain some cheap attention like others did. I am firm on my decision and I don't have a problem gettting these pictures public".
"And Poonam Pandey, Who the f#ck is that? I would have known her if she was doing something for a noble cause, something that will benefit the nation, the society."
Kavita, whose first Bollywood film will release in July this year, lashed out at the uncaring manner in which animal welfare is treated in India. "I see so many banners and hoardings talking about Saving Tigers. I want to ask how much money is spent for all this? Wouldn't it be better to invest the same money in actually saving these animals?"
Kavita did raise some interesting questions. However, only time will tell if her noble photoshoot helps saving the animals.
