Telugu movies are slowly gaining prominence in Tamil Nadu with films like the Mahesh Babu starrer 'Dookudu' and Power Star Pawan Kalyan's 'Gabbar Singh' raking in the moolah. S.S Rajamouli's Eega, the Telugu original of 'Naan Ee' and Allu Arjun's 'Julayi' that had a splendid run in Tamil Nadu are another such winners.

Following the above mentioned movies, there is a fair bit of hype for the Raghavendra Lawrence directed 'Rebel' starring Rebel star Prabhas' opposite Deeksha Seth and the very popular Tamannah in the lead.

The theatrical rights of this movie in Tamil Nadu has been sold for a record breaking 33 Lakhs while the actor's previous film was sold just for 11 lakhs.

Although the presence of the ever beautiful Tamannah and Lawrence's direction has the given the required push for such rates, it also proves the growing market for Telugu films in the state.
